Iran : Scholarship for Pakistani Students

The Admission Department for Non-Iranian Student of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has in a press release, notified the conditions for admission of non Iranian student.
Conditions and Facilities of Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran concerning Grant of Academic Scholarships to Pakistani Students in  Various Fields.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Applications from candidates will be considered and accepted, after submission of academic and identity documents, and dispatch of the same to the Scholarship Council, in accordance with the conditions mentioned in the by-laws with due regard to age, aggregate of grades obtained, and academic certificates as well as other regulations.
  2. Academic scholarships will be granted annually in all fields and academic levels for pursuing studies in the long-term course after approval by the Scholarship Council for Non-Iranian applicants.
  3. Short-term research and studies courses will be undertaken with the coordination of universities, and under the supervision of the Bureau for International Academic Cooperation of the Ministry concerned.
  4. The admitted students will start their education in two semesters in the months, of September and January of each Academic year.
  5. The time for submission of documents by the applicants will be before May 5 and September 6 each year, and the result will be announced, after due consideration, on July 6, and November 6 of that Year.
  6. The admitted students are obligated to successfully pass Farsi Language Learning course at the Imam Khomeini (RA) International University.
  7. Students, holding scholarship, will benefit from the dormitory for bachelor students, and also health insurance free of charge.
  8. Bachelor students, holding scholarship, will be monthly paid the following amounts as expenditures:
    - Post diploma and Bachelor's level Rials 800,000
    - Masters' level Rials 900, 000
    - Doctorate Rials 1,000,000

  9. All the married students will be monthly paid Rials 1,500,000 as expenditures.
  10. All the students admitted for pursuing studies in the Islamic Republic of Iran will, immediately after admission, be paid Rials 500,000 as initial expenditure.
  11. Married students, subject to availability, will be given accommodation in dormitory for married students, and in the event of non-availability, they will be given 500,000 Rials per month as housing allowance by the Ministry of Science ,Research and Technology and also a loan of 20 million Rials for housing accommodation will be paid through the Students Welfare Fund.


HOW TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP IN IRAN

Pakistani students intend to apply for scholarship to study in the Islamic Republic of Iran should submit the following documents to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad or Consulate General offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
1-Admission form (duly filled in, it can be downloaded from the Embassy‘s website: www.iranembassy.pk)
2- Translation or copy of attested documents & Mark Sheets (From Higher Education & Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.)
3-Three Introduction Letters for Masters & PhD programs
4- Physical Fitness Certificate) to be free from addiction of Narcotics, AIDS. Hepatitis B & C and should not be physically handicapped)
5-Financial Soundness Certificate in case of Self finance & Semi Self finance
6-A copy of all pages of Candidates Identification Documents (Passport valid for intended study duration)
7- 4 latest photographs (4*6 sizes)
8- Students Visa Application form (can be downloaded from the Embassy‘s website)
9- Age limit 20, 25, 31 years respectively for Graduation, Masters and PhD level programs. For Masters in Theology & Islamic Studies age limit is 28 years.
10- Minimum of 70 % marks

Australia : Acergy Ocean Engineering Scholarships

ACERGY are in Western Australia, and are a seabed-to-surface engineering and construction contractor to the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide. They provide integrated services, and plan, design and deliver complex projects in harsh and challenging environments.
ACERGY will offer a competitive Scholarship in 2012 that will include a work placement (November 2011 – February 2012). The scholarship is aimed at potential Bachelor of Engineering (Ocean Engineering) degree students that will commence their fourth year in 2012.
Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in the third year of study, show leadership potential, and will also be subject to an interview process with AMC and ACERGY panel, as part of this scholarship award, successful candidates would undertake a work placement between (November 2011 – February 2012) with ACERGY.
The scholarship will provide a stipend of up to $15,000
(The recipient will receive $10,000 during the academic year March to December, and the rate per work day over the summer placement will be $100 per day approx 10 weeks)
The ACERGY Scholarship is offered to one 3rd year AMC student undertaking Bachelor of Engineering (Ocean Engineering)
Eligibility
Applicants should be:
  • Year 3 students enrolled in the above degree at AMC in 2011.
  • Australian Citizen, Permanent Residents or Holders of a Humanitarian Visa
Selection Criteria
Selection for the ACERGY Maritime Engineering Award will be based on the following criteria;
  • Sound academic record
  • Leadership potential demonstrated by involvement in university, work or community activities
  • Creativity and innovation demonstrated by participation in practical exercises, individual or team projects, or exercises as part of the university curricular or extra- curricular activities
The application should address the selection criteria and include;
  • A copy of academic transcript;
  • A brief statement from the applicant outlining his/her long term goals and the benefits he/she hopes to derive from the award;
  • A curriculum vitae, including any community leadership or service activities in which the applicant has participated;
  • A confidential reference attesting to the applicant’s academic ability, motivation and participation in the university or community activities (see attached form)
  • The applicant should forward the blank copy of the confidential referee form the selected referee;
  • The referee should forward the completed form attached to Di Hazelwood, Coordinator Scholarships and Prizes.

Germany : Kurt Hansen Scholarships

Application for a Kurt Hansen scholarship is open to students studying to become science teachers.
Key support areas include study projects, internships, summer courses, preparatory and supplementary study courses and theses. Assistance is also available for projects aimed at improving the training of science teachers.
The foundation places great emphasis on internationalism, and therefore grants scholarships exclusively to students from German-speaking countries wishing to study abroad and foreign applicants who want to study in Germany.
Applicants should be able to show good to very good final school marks as well as a particularly good intermediate diploma. Furthermore, a broad horizon and a high level of motivation and personal commitment are expected of all applicants – be it in a social, political or cultural field.

Program to Extend Scholarships and Training to Achieve Sustainable Impacts (PRESTASI) provides opportunities for Indonesians to earn Master degrees in selected fields primarily from a university in the US.PRESTASI is open to all Indonesians who meet the requirements.
Target of Participant for PRESTASI Program are as follow:

The goal of PRESTASI is to improve the performance and leadership skills of Indonesian professionals, which, in turn will help to promote development in Indonesia. PRESTASI will continue to support the tradition of participant training and human capacity development by providing opportunities for advanced academic degrees in the U.S. and Indonesia. The program will build on the successes of its predecessor, which provided 162 participants short term opportunities and 159 participants longer term opportunities for Masters Programs in the U.S., Indonesia, and third countries. Netherlands : Stuned Indonesia Scholarships

StuNed, Studeren in Nederland, is a scholarship programme focusing on mid-career professionals, as part of the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands. The scholarship programme aims to contribute to the development of Indonesia through strengthening the human resources of Indonesian organizations. Individual applicants may apply for master degree or short courses in the Netherlands, whilst institutions may apply through the StuNed Group Application and/or for refresher courses.
StuNed for Short Courses
Main requirements to apply:
  • be an Indonesian national
  • have earned a S1 or Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent at a recognized university in Indonesia; be able to provide evidence of the academic achievements (minimum GPA score 2.75)
  • relevant work experience for at least two years
  • have an academic or professional background that is related to the subject of the course;
  • be full time available for the entire period of the study programme or course and be able to participate in and complete all courses
  • have a high level of English proficiency, TOEFL 520
  • be admitted to one of the courses or programmes offered by Institutes of Higher Education in the Netherlands for the academic year 2010
  • no age limit, but priority will be given to the mid-career professional
The StuNed programme is supporting the Dutch policy for development co-operation with Indonesia and aims to contribute to the achievement of the UN Millennium Development Goals in 2015. The framework for the bilateral relations between the Netherlands government with Indonesia is laid down in the Multi-Annual Strategic Plan 2008-2011 (MASP). The overall objective is to strengthen bilateral relations and to support Indonesia in realizing its medium term development goals. The MASP aims to achieve the the following four strategic goals:
  1. Improved democracy, stability, human rights and governance, resulting in a just and safe society;
  2. Improved economic governance, resulting in sustainable economic growth and an equal distribution of growth through society, in order to decrease poverty more rapidly;
  3. Improved environmental and climate policy and implementation, resulting in increased use of renewable energy, sustainable management of natural resources, reducing emissions of greenhouse gas and adaptation to climate change;
  4. Intensified bilateral relations through a ‘comprehensive partnership framework’.
The StuNed programme focuses on generating and strengthening institutional capacity in support of the above mentioned strategic goals. Related study fields are: education, rural development, environment, water management and sanitation, trade, good governance and human rights, gender, and culture.

US : Health Scholarships For American and International

The American College of Surgeons offers International Guest Scholarships to competent young surgeons from countries other than the United States or Canada who have demonstrated strong interests in teaching and research. The scholarships, in the amount of $8,000 each, provide the Scholars with an opportunity to visit clinical, teaching, and research activities in North America and to attend and participate fully in the educational opportunities and activities of the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
This scholarship endowment was originally provided through the legacy left to the College by Dr. Paul R. Hawley (FACS Hon), former College Director. More recently, gifts from the families of Dr. Abdol Islami (FACS) and Baxiram S. and Kankuben B. Gelot, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and others to the International Guest Scholarship endowment have enabled the College to expand the number of scholarship awards.
The scholarships provide successful applicants with the privilege of participating in the College’s annual Clinical Congress in October, with public recognition of their presence. They will receive gratis admission to selected postgraduate courses plus admission to all lectures, demonstrations, and exhibits, which are an integral part of the Clinical Congress. Assistance will be provided in arranging visits, following the Clinical Congress, to various clinics and universities of their choice.

The scholarship requirements are:
  • Applicants must be graduates of schools of medicine.
  • Applicants must be at least 35 years old, but under 45, on the date that the completed application is filed.
  • Applicants must submit their applications from their intended permanent location. Applications will be accepted for processing only when the applicants have been in surgical practice, teaching, or research for a minimum of one year at their intended permanent location, following completion of all formal training (including fellowships and scholarships).
  • Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to teaching and/or research in accordance with the standards of the applicant’s country.
  • Applicants whose careers are in the developing stage are deemed more suitable than those who are serving in senior academic appointments.
  • Applicants must submit a fully completed application form provided by the College on its website. The application and accompanying materials must be typewritten and in English. Submission of a curriculum vitae only is not acceptable.
  • Applicants must provide a list of all of their publications and must submit, in addition, three complete publications (reprints or manuscripts) of their choice from that list.
  • Applicants must submit letters of recommendation from three of their colleagues. One letter must be from the chair of the department in which they hold academic appointment, or a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons residing in their country. The chair’s or the Fellow’s letter is to include a specific statement detailing the nature and extent of the teaching and other academic involvement of the applicant. Letters of recommendation should be submitted in envelopes sealed by the recommenders.
  • Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae of no more than 10 pages.
  • Applicants may submit a photograph. (Passport size is preferable.)
  • The International Guest Scholarships must be used in the year for which they are designated. They cannot be postponed.
  • Applicants who are awarded scholarships are expected to provide a full written report of the experiences provided through the scholarships upon completion of their tours.
  • An unsuccessful applicant may reapply only twice and only by completing and submitting a current application form provided by the College, together with new supporting documentation.

Indonesia : Scholarships on IHM Tourism International

Are you an Indonesian citizen? Do you have excellent study results? Are you very motivated to study International Hotel Management in Bali, earning a double degree upon graduation? Then you might be eligible for a full or partial scholarship at Stenden University Bali.

Stenden University Bali has two types of scholarships for the academic year 2011/2012, both are for at least one academic year. However, if your study results at Stenden University Bali are excellent (full scholarship) or above average (partial scholarship), the scholarship will be extended to the following academic years as well.


The scholarships  available are

Full scholarship

A scholarship that covers the complete tuition fee (of 4600 each year USD) and all other study related costs, such as books and learning materials, equating up to USD24,000 in savings over four years. This scholarship will be rewarded only to the very best student(s).  You should be highly talented and have excellent study results. Guideline is that you belong to the top 10% of your class.

Partial scholarship

A scholarship that consists of a discount in the tuition fee of 1000 USD per year. These scholarships are available for select students that score in the top 25% of their class and who are very motivated to study at Stenden.

The above characteristics should be demonstrated in the documents that you send with your application and in the interview we will have with selected candidates.

How to apply

Application for the scholarship program should be completed together with the application for the program International Hotel Management.
1.       Complete both the Scholarship Application and the Standard Application Forms

2.       Prepare the usual documents for application as outlined in the application form

3.       Add your CV

4.       Add all documents that proof your excellence, talent and motivation.
Examples of documents that may be included include:

·         A statement of the school that you belong to the top 25% or top 10% of your class;
·         An academic reference of a teacher, principle, company demonstrating your academic proficiency
·         An personal reference of a teacher, principle, company demonstrating your good character and motivation
·         Certificates of extra courses you attended, contests you won, etc.

Please keep in mind: we will look at the content and quality of the documents, NOT at the quantity. So only hand in documents that are useful and to the point.

5.       Add to your motivation letter (that is one of the standard documents for application for the IHM program) why you think you should earn a partial or full scholarship. The motivation letter can be up to 1500 words. We will judge the content of the letter, but also your English level, your writing style, structure of the letter and argumentation.

Remember, again, we are looking for quality, not quantity. Make sure your motivation letter is a true representation of your best writing.

 Only students that hand in all five types of documents will be considered candidates for the scholarship program.  

Selection Procedures

1.       Applications close June 30th 2011
2.       First selection round of candidates by Stenden University Bali will be completed in the first two weeks of July. Shortlisted candidates will receive a notification before July 15th 2011.
3.       Interviews with shortlisted candidates are held between July 18th and July 29th. The interview will be held with the General Manager of Stenden University Bali, one member of the academic staff and a manager of a hotel in Indonesia.
4.       The final decision will be made on August 1st 2011. All shortlisted candidates, that have had an interview, will receive an answer that same day.
Both the full and partial scholarships are intended for applicants entering during primary and secondary intakes in September and November. Depending on the quality and number of the applicants that are selected for a scholarship, Stenden University Bali reserves the right to conduct subsequent rounds of scholarship selection for the intake in February (third intake) and April (fourth intake). Turky ; Government for Bachelor,Masters and PhD Scholarships

Turkish Government offers scholarships for Undergraduate and Graduate (Master/PhD) studies, as well as for Research and Turkish Language Summer Courses under the following conditions:
1- Scholarship notifications are announced through diplomatic channels. Candidates should apply to the authorized bodies of their own countries or to the Turkish Embassies/Consulates in their respective countries.
2- Candidate is selected by the related country or Republic of Turkey by the foreign representatives. Commission also selects one reserve candidate for a quota of five, two reserve candidates for a quota of six or more.
