PhD scholarship in Environmental and Resource Economics

PhD scholarship in Environmental and Resource EconomicsThe University of Southern Denmark, Department of Environmental and Business Economics, invites applications for a 3-year PhD scholarship in Environmental and Resource Economics.

The Department of Environmental and Business Economics is part of the Faculty of Social Science and is located in Esbjerg. Research in the Department is organized in four research groups, and the announced position will be part of the Environmental and Resource Economics group (ERM). In January 2011 the ERM group was awarded a grant to build an elite unit. The scholarship is an integrated part of this grant. More information about the grant and the research group can be found at http://www.sdu.dk/ime.
We seek candidates with empirical research interests in environmental economics, renewable and exhaustible resources and ecological economics (macro and micro), policy and management. While the research group mainly consists of economists, the research is often placed in a multidisciplinary academic and international environment. Applications are invited from candidates with a Master’s Degree.

It is expected that the successful candidates will apply integrated modeling approaches to assess the balances and trade-offs among the human economy and the economy of nature, e.g. cost-benefit analysis and appropriate valuation methods for non-market goods and services.

The Department provides a competitive salary, modern facilities for research as well as resources for travel and conference participation.
