The Catholic University of Paris offers international doctoral students Ph.D scholarships in theology, philosophy, and Canon Law under the tutelage of an experienced professor and researcher.

By issuing this doctoral scholarship, the Catholic University of Paris seeks to encourage young international researchers with competencies in theology and philosophy in particular, and who can enrich our university environment with their own unique university background.
Scholarship Requirements
The successful doctoral scholarship candidate is committed to writing and defending their thesis at the Catholic University of Paris, provided they receive a positive annual evaluation by the Newman Scholarship Commission.
The standard thesis preparation is three years. A written agreement between the thesis supervisor and the candidate determines the research activities during the duration of the doctoral program.
The Newman Scholarship
The Newman Scholarship comprises:
housing (excluding heat and hot water costs)
annual tuition fees
monthly stipend of €1000
annual tuition fees
monthly stipend of €1000
Social security and medical insurance costs remain the responsibility of the doctoral student. The doctoral agreement may be renewed twice. For more Newman Scholarship details (in French), please see the pdf. document

Deadlines For 2011-2012, the Newman Scholarship application period is from June 1, 2011 through July 1, 2011. Applications are closed on the 1st of July. Responses will be given July 15, 2011.
